In Good Company

At Cloverleaf K9 Connections, we’re dedicated to helping families find the perfect companion—not just from our own litters, but also through partnerships with other established, reputable breeders we know and trust. By collaborating with breeders who share our values for health, temperament, and ethical practices, we can offer a wider variety of breeds and ensure every puppy is raised with the same love and care. These partnerships allow us to connect more families with the right puppy for their lifestyle, while maintaining the high standards that define the Cloverleaf name.

"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself."

Our Story

Meet Dana

Cloverleaf K9 Connections began with a simple wish: our son wanted a part-time job at just 10 years old. That spark turned into a family passion for raising healthy, happy puppies in a home-based, hands-on environment. Now, over 10 years later, we’re still dedicated to breeding and raising companion pets of the highest quality.

My Story...

My name is Dana McConnell and I am the owner and sole proprietor of Cloverleaf K9 Connections. I was born and raised in Manheim, Pennsylvania, and I am a retired Special Education Teacher and Reading Specialist. My father was a barber and my mother taught 3rd grade. My father fostered my love for animals by keeping our house full of them. There were dogs, cats, ponies, chipmunks -and I can’t forget my loving raccoon, Shorty. I know you may be skeptical, but it’s true! We loved all animals in our household, no matter the size or breed.

As I got older, my love for animals came to focus more on dogs. So, naturally, as I married and had my two sons, we always had a dog (or two) running our property. My oldest son is a dog lover, but my youngest son, Nicolas, took on my natural aptitude to love and care for all animals. At one point, Nicholas and I took on so many animals it felt like we were running a petting zoo! We had mini fainting goats, chickens, rabbits, pigeons, a chinchilla, and even a donkey named Norman. Once Nicholas was almost old enough to have a part-time job, he approached my husband and I about getting a breeding pair of dogs. He was too young for a real job outside of the home but wanted to earn his own cash. So, we said yes. He handled the animals, while I handled the courses and education required to take on this kind of career.

Let’s fast forward a bit! Nicholas grew up, moved out, and left his dogs behind until he could find adequate housing. We were a business now; I couldn’t let it sink, so I jumped in with both feet. I got my own dogs, became affiliated with Good Dog, and I took every educational course I could get my hands on. I improved my breeding practices and have become fairly successful in my small breeding program.

I have been breeding over 10 years now. My goal and mission is to not only have happy, healthy dogs, but to provide my clients with companion pets of the highest quality. Our females are all genetically tested. They also participate in any other health testing that is needed for their specific breed. Our Dams are also strategically matched to a Sire to avoid any breed-specific congenital or genetic defects.

I am very dedicated to my craft, always learning and seeking new knowledge on how to do it better. I am also very focused on the buying experience of my clients. Whether you’re a first-time owner, previous dog owner, or just interested in a new-to-you breed, I am always available to answer your questions, help you get acclimated, and to educate you on all the “new” things in the dog world.

As I tell every client: “You own one of my puppies; we are friends for life now”.

Your friend,

Dana McConnell
