Air Tags
There has been a lot of discussion in recents months regarding air tags and their use
with pets. Opinions differ greatly as to the success of their use. Issues reported
include: that they are not water proof, they have limited range/distance in their tracking
ability, as well as their durability for long time wear.
In my search for a solution, I stumble upon a new product Where did I find it?
Facebook of all places. The company is called Crumb. They had a Facebook post that
said they were giving away free tags to any dog owner that completed the request
form. Even though I was highly skeptical, I completed the form. Several weeks later, the
5 tags I requested arrived in an envelope completely free. I didn’t even pay postage.
The tag simply states “I’m lost” and has a QR code. You scan the code with your
phone and it takes you to the demographic information about your pet, and how to get
them home safely.
Other features of the services include:
- Full pet profile
- Instant GPS alerts when someone scans the QR code
- Vet and shelter alerts within a 10 mile radius
- Missing poster are made and emailed to you as soon as you mark your pet lost
- Free replacement tags when lost or damaged
- Privacy mode: which hides your personal information
- 6 months complimentary access to 24/7 video Vet services
- They also have a Snout-ID feature. Its takes a biometric fingerprint of your pets nose
which helps to protect them even is they are stolen.
There is a membership fee; however, the cost is dependent on the membership you
choose.
Keeping our pets safe is paramount. Give Crumb a try!
